Thank you so much for having such a beautiful resort! Our family gathering of 15 had the best fall weekend at your resort. everything we needed was there. Both cabins were immaculate and the setting beautiful. We all went to the Cranberry Fest in Stone Lake, loved the fall colors, and were comfortable in the cabins. My family has been going to Fred Thomas for 50 Years and three generations. You will not find a better value for your money than this facility. We have stayed in many of the cabins and apartments and they are all completely modern and beautifully decorated. Great fishing along with great people. “It’s not only a resort, it’s a tradition”
Fred Thomas is a great place to get away to. We’ve been going for almost 30 years and my wife’s grandparents started going there in the 1940’s and the family has continued since. The cottage is in a fantastic location, close to the swimming area and near all the activity, yet peaceful. The resort provides all the basic amenities to make one’s visit very restful. The facilities are very well kept, their expression of “Perpetually New” is not an empty statement but rather a mission statement. We go to Fred Thomas every year and look forward to seeing our family as well as all the other families that we’ve gotten to know over the years. The fact that numerous generations of families come every year for years is a true testament to how loved the resort is.
If you’re looking for a beautiful, peaceful place to unwind, this is it. I can’t imagine anyone not being able to find something to do here. There’s swimming, fishing, boats to take around the lake, places to sit out and read, a fire pit to gather around with friends and family, a playground, various ground games, the lodge with books and puzzles, exercise room, game room the list just goes on. This place is just awesome. I do have some reservation about telling too many people about this little bit of heaven in the Northwoods because I still want to be able to stay there, but it’s just too good to not let others know. You’ve got to try it, you’ll be amazed and pleased. ~ The Markens

Just a little note to let you know we all had a wonderful week at your resort. I don’t know why we waited so long to return. Our cottage was squeaky clean and comfortable and your grounds are beautiful. We all had a super time being together nite and day.

“Found the peaceful, restorative location we were seeking!”
My husband and I recently were blessed with a much needed vacation. We love to fish, and my husband wanted to go back to the Birchwood area where we had visited many years ago. I agreed on the condition that we stay some place other than where we had stayed before. Our on-line search landed us at Fred Thomas Resort. We could not have been more pleased with our choice. The property is lovely, very well-maintained, beautiful flower gardens, and right on the lake! We were greeted by one of the co-owners who lives right on the property, and she was very friendly and accommodating. The property has been passed down through the family and its history is documented in a scrapbook in each cabin – quite a charming touch! I think it is that pride in heritage that must motivate the owners to keep the property so well-maintained.
Our cabin was very nice, super clean, with many updates. The kitchen was well-equipped with all of the basic items one would need. I would say nothing fancy or luxurious, just good-old-fahioned quality!
We also were pleaed to find everything we needed right on the resort property. Bait, gasoline, and even a small assortment of grocery items in the office. We were able to park our boat in the “boat house” which was located jsut steps from our cabing allowing us to easily take it out when we wanted. The fishing was decent and we were able to bring some fish home for the freezer. My husband described the fish cleaning house as “deluxe” – high praise for a fish cleaning house!
We did find the route for the boat ramp to be a bit challenging. It is very narrow and curvy – with a couple of big trees located very close. One day I did see someone pulling a pontoon boat up the boat ramp and the boat hit one of th trees as he we went around the curve. Fortunately, my husband was very cautios and we were able to get our boat in and out without incident!

Our little family loved our place and all that is Fred Thomas Resort.
The friendliness of your staff is wonderful. Our place was immaculate and had all that we needed. We loved the great flower garden areas, vegetable garden and well-kept grounds. Our just 10 year old grandson and I have been planting flower seeds since he was three. It has cultivated in him a wonderful love of plants, both flowers and vegetables. One day we were looking for him and found him down at the garden area talking to Linda. It warmed my heart. We all decided the pontoon rental was a great choice. We enjoyed it immensely. It was wonderful to be able to fish together for hours. The only thing our grandson looked forward to, but didn’t find time to do, was kayaking. His highlights of the week were catching a large bass and the day on the pontoon boat. As grandparents, it’s all about creating memories documented with lots of photos. ~ Lynne Baker
